One of our great friends and a Black Belt from West America Tae Kwon Do ran in the Austin Marathon on February 19th to support the organization Love Without Boundaries. Chris is an amazing person and, if you know him or have had the chance to meet him, you know he has a heart of gold. Here's his story...please read and if you can, please support! OOOS!
"On February 19th, I’ll be running the Austin Marathon in support of Love Without Boundaries. Many of you know that I ran my first marathon a little over a year ago in support of LWB. My goal was to raise $750, and ended up bringing in $1,700 through your generosity. That money went to healing 3 children with severe medical issues (see separate posting for some details).
This year, I’m requesting that the funds raised go to supporting a very special project. LWB will be sending a medical team to rural China in April to perform surgeries on orphans with severe cleft lips/palates and other craniofacial issues. My goal is to raise $1,000, which will help fund several children in need of surgery. The trip not only heals children and gives them an opportunity for a family, but it also assists training local medical professionals in advanced techniques for repairing more severe defects. I’m honored to be traveling with LWB on this trip, and will be reporting back on the progress of the surgeries.
If you would like to help me reach my goal, you can donate online specifically for me by going to the below link and click “Sponsor Chris”. Or you may send a check directly to LWB, P.O. Box 25016 Oklahoma City, OK 73125-0016. Please make the check payable to LWB and note my name and Austin2012 on your check. No donation is too small.
Love Without Boundaries is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax exempt for most people."
